KAFKA'S LAST WISH: Burn everything 🔥 In 1924 Franz Kafka died of tuberculosis at forty. He had published only short stories. In his desk, his best friend Max Brod found a note: everything was to be burned, unread. Brod refused. He published The Trial, The Castle and Amerika, and in March 1939 he fled Prague with a suitcase full of Kafka's papers.
